Our Staff
Lindsay Trank and Lauren Smith serve as the co-directors of the school, while also serving as co-teachers in the classroom.
Lindsay Trank
Lindsay is a certified K-9 teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience. She is also the Director of Religious Education at the UU Church. Lindsay loves spending time outdoors with her children and is excited to share her love of nature with little ones.
Lauren Smith
Lauren is a certified Montessori early childhood teacher with several years of teaching experience. She is also the Nursery Director at the UU Church. Lauren grew up in a rural area and has fond memories of her childhood spent outdoors.
Parent Experience
Both of our sons have had the pleasure of attending Woodsong and have absolutely loved their experiences. It has been so great to find a program like Woodsong that is specifically tailored for two year olds, taking into account their needs, interests, and developmental milestones. We love that this program submerges the boys in nature, and that they are consistently outside playing and going for a nature walk daily (barring extenuating weather circumstances). We also love that through this program, the boys have been able to start socializing and developing friendships with other children their own age, and have been able to find comfort, support, and a budding self-confidence from their phenomenal teachers, Ms. Lauren and Ms. Lindsay.
Woodsong has the perfect amount of structure for a two year old. Our sons have been able to anticipate how their day will progress, which has helped them feel comforted, has empowered them, and helped tremendously with separation anxiety. Ms. Lauren and Ms. Lindsay are fantastic, and we have seen both boys blossom in their care. I highly recommend Woodsong Nature School to anyone that is looking for a place for their two year old to flourish while also enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
