Lindsay is also the Director of Religious Education at the UU Church. She loves spending time outdoors with her children gardening, hiking, collecting rocks - you name it! Lindsay is excited to share her love of nature with children at Woodsong and see their faces light up when they make their very own nature discoveries!

Aly Vavra

Aly (she/her) is the assistant teacher on Mondays and Fridays and the substitute teacher when needed. She has over 20 years of experience in a variety of educational settings. Aly loves spending time outdoors and attending events in the state-line with her lively blended family of five kids under the age of 10.

Jess Teske

Jess (she/her) is the assistant teacher on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and the substitute teacher when needed. She is the proud mom of three Montessori educated students and has spent countless hours volunteering in their classrooms. She loves exploring outdoors with her own children as well as the students at Woodsong. Watching the children grow in confidence and self-reliance is one of her great joys in and outside of the classroom.

Parent Experience

Both of our sons have had the pleasure of attending Woodsong and have absolutely loved their experiences. It has been so great to find a program like Woodsong that is specifically tailored for two year olds, taking into account their needs, interests, and developmental milestones. We love that this program submerges the boys in nature, and that they are consistently outside playing and going for a nature walk daily (barring extenuating weather circumstances). We also love that through this program, the boys have been able to start socializing and developing friendships with other children their own age, and have been able to find comfort, support, and a budding self-confidence from their phenomenal teachers.

Woodsong has the perfect amount of structure for a two year old. Our sons have been able to anticipate how their day will progress, which has helped them feel comforted, has empowered them, and helped tremendously with separation anxiety. I highly recommend Woodsong Nature School to anyone that is looking for a place for their two year old to flourish while also enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
